Ant Edwards Gets Hit With $100K Fine for Postgame Profanities
Ant Edwards is back at it again, and this time it cost him $100K. The NBA slapped the Timberwolves All-Star with the fine after he dropped some spicy language during a live TV interview following Minnesota's wild 113-112 comeback win against the Rockets. Apparently, the league’s had enough of his unfiltered postgame vibes.
Edwards nailed the game-winning three off a dime from Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and emotions were high. But when the mic came out, so did the f-bomb, which was definitely not flying under the NBA’s radar. With his history of colorful language, the league wasn’t letting this one slide.
This isn’t Ant’s first rodeo with fines. Back in December, he got hit with a $25K fine for double f-bombs after a win over the Warriors. And in November, he caught a $35K fine for flipping off a Kings fan. Just last week, he lost another $75K for calling refs “f***ing terrible.” Safe to say, the league is keeping tabs.
So far this season, Edwards is down $235K in fines—straight savage. But with a $42.2M paycheck coming from his rookie extension, it looks like he’s cool with trading a chunk of change to keep it real in the moment.
The NBA’s making it clear that repeat offenders will keep paying up, but Ant doesn’t seem fazed. Whether it’s clutch shots or clutch quotes, he’s doing things his way.
